Matcon Joins the Fight Against Childhood Cancer
Published on 25 October 2024
Matcon is pleased to announce its partnership with The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, chosen as the company's preferred charity for the upcoming corporate year. After a thoughtful selection process, the heartfelt mission of the Trust, which is dedicated to combatting childhood cancer and supporting families through unimaginably difficult times, resonated deeply with our team.
To amplify our commitment, Matcon has also entered the Corporate Challenge 2024-2025. We've organised our employees into five teams, each starting with a seed money of £10. The teams will leverage their creativity and business acumen to raise funds, turning this challenge into an opportunity for team building and friendly competition.
"After we asked employees to vote on the Company’s next charity of the year, the decision to support The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was overwhelming" shared Natalie Chatley, Chairperson of the Matcon Charity Committee. Their story and mission have touched us all. Our goal is not just to raise funds, but to spread awareness about the signs of childhood cancer. Because, as the Trust rightly says, 'the children of today all deserve a tomorrow.'
Every year in the UK alone, over 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. It's not as rare as we may think, and recognising early signs can be crucial. That's why raising awareness is just as important to us as fundraising.
In addition to the Corporate Challenge, The Matcon Charity Committee has organised a variety of engaging activities to support this cause. From charity walks to wreath-making workshops and quiz sessions, each initiative is designed to maximise fundraising for families and children impacted by childhood cancer.
Matcon invites all our colleagues from the IDEX Corporation and its partners, charity supporters, and Corporate Challenge participants to join in these efforts. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by childhood cancer. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to the affected families.
